AC Milan Transfer Updates (Monday 19, 2017)
Several situations have seemingly halted AC Milan's transfer moves, particularly recent Gianluigi Donnarumma's case which forced Rossoneri to search for a potential new keeper. This early weekend, I will try to share some of the latest reports regarding Milan's transfer plan for the upcoming 2017/2018 season.
Goalkeeper
The status of Gigi Donnarumma seems to be unclear for now, though it's more likely that he will be sold this summer. However, a potential U-turn might still happen, should the young keeper changed his mind and resign with Rossoneri. Nevertheless, considering Mino Raiola's mindset it won't be easy for a new talk to happen anytime soon as their camp's original idea was always to wait as long as possible, while observing offers from other teams.
Possible Arrivals
Now, let's talk about possible new arrivals on that goal keeper position:
Mattia Perin : The Genoa goalie is being strongly linked to be Donnarumma's replacement, despite still recovering from his recent long term injury. Reports stating that he will only be fully fit next September, making things rather odd as Milan must play in Europa League qualification which set to start in late July.
Neto : Current Juventus' backup goalie is also being mentioned as potential candidate as he used to play under Vincenzo Montella during the tactician's time at Fiorentina. However, for now deal seemingly difficult asa Rossoneri are not keen on paying too much money for the Brazilian, while Juve are asking for more than what their rival keen on offering.
Berdt Leno : Bayern Leverkusen's shot stopper is another name who are being seriously considered by Milan's management for that goal keeping role as the Red and Black director, Mirabelli is keen on the German international. However, the goalie's price seemingly the most expensive out of the other options as reports from German media claiming that Leverkusen might want at least 25 million Euro for their number one. Money might not be an issue for new Rossoneri's management, but this deal might only happen should the Italian giant want to invest heavily in that position.
Defender:
Andrea Conti : Not much new updates yet on the Italian international status as Atalanta and Milan must first agree on fee before Rossoneri can wrapped up the deal. The player himself is now still focusing himself on Azzurri under 21 squad, so any official announcement might have to wait after that tournament.
Apart from Conti, no new names are being mentioned, though as I previously stated any addition might be related on potential departures from Rossoneri squad. Up till now, Gabriel Palletta seemingly the main guy who could be departing, seeing he has plenty of interest from Serie A teams.
Midfielder :
Lucas Biglia : The deal involving Biglia has stalled for quite a bit since it supposed to involve another player. However, Milan seemingly still keen on snatching the Argentinian international, even without inserting Keita Balde on the deal. This situation requires re-negotiation and latest reports believes that things can finally be sorted out in the next few days.
Gregorz Krychowiak: Current Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is also named being strongly considered for the midfield role. So far, reports claiming that Milan sees the Poland international as an alternative solution and only want the player on a loan deal.
Attacker :
After confirming Andre Silva, Milan are still keen on searching for at least one more attacker, possibly a bigger name compared to the talented Portuguese international. So far, all previous three names which I already named in previous post, such as: Pierre Aubameyang, Alvaro Morata along with Andrea Belotti, remain possibilities as neither have moved yet from their current clubs, although Morata is strongly linked with a move to Manchester United.
Nicola Kalinic: One of the later potential to be mentioned by the media is Kalinic from Fiorentina. Despite strong media speculation, for now there's still no concrete moves being made by Milan in trying to prize up the Croatian international forward.
As for wide attacking players, Gerard Deulofeu, remain a possibility as long as he can cleared out his situation with Barcelona. Keita Balde seemed to be preferring Juventus only at the moment, though things can still chance. Other names being mentioned are Papu Gomez, Emil Forsberg along with Yevhen Konoplyanka, though the latter seems to be a very weak rumors for the time being.
Rossoneri are looking to get another attacker that can be set and ready not only for their Europa League qualification but also upcoming China Tour. Silva should be available, but he might be given an extra rest due to his current participation in Confederations Cup 2017 with Portugal.
I will try to provide more updates in the near future, so keep anticipating it.
