Montella Happy With Milan's Effort Against Bordeaux
Starting off their first preseason friendly with a 2-1 win, AC Milan head coach Vincenzo Montella was quite happy with what he saw. Although admitting that his team can and must do better, but the tactician was satisfied in how his players immediately tried to take things they did in training into play. Obviously there's plenty things that can be worked on, but considering it's their first game after early days of training session, Montella doesn't have much complaint.
The tactician specifically stated how important for his side to push their tempo and passing play when they're constructing a move, as it was somewhat lacking at times. Another aspect that Montella gave his players credits for was the attitude they showed, which is important for him. He is confident though that things can be improved before the Serie A season starts as the tactician do have plenty of time to work on his players.
Regarding individual players, Montella also shared his view regarding Giacomo Bonaventura, who the tactician tried in as Mezzalla in that tie. The former Fiorentina boss stated that although Bonaventura is more of a trequartista, but he do posses the required characteristic to play many different roles in the midfield area. Milan will be heading to the United States after their first friendly where they're set to participate in the regular major teams friendly tournament in that nation.
